In Clichy-la-Garenne, north of Paris, we now know the project chosen to design a real estate and cultural complex combining futuristic architecture and heritage rehabilitation. On the agenda: a 4-star hotel, rooftop gardens and contemporary art exhibition spaces...

Greater Paris is taking shape a little more every day. Beyond the confines of the Paris ring road, architectural projects are multiplying and changing the face of the metropolis. A stone's throw to the north, the "braided tower" project, designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti, has just won the architectural competition to modernise an entire district on the site of La Maison du Peuple in Clichy-la-Garenne.

The winning bidder, Groupe Duval, will restore the historic building and build a new tower nearby, on a total surface area of 15,000 m2. The project's promoters are already announcing a future "international showcase ", conceived as a "dialogue between two iconic buildings, the Baudoin-Lods-Prouvé work classified as a Historic Monument and the braided tower designed by Rudy Ricciotti - Lba + Holzweg ".

A Hyatt Centric hotel, a unique concept in Paris

Located close to the future metro line 14 station, the complex will include a display area for the Centre Georges-Pompidou's modern and contemporary art collections. The first floor will feature a restaurant with an organic food-court, a small producers' market, a drop-in daycare center, a bookshop, a wine shop and a bakery, as well as roof gardens with micro greenhouses and honey from Maison du Peuple.

The upper floors will feature a new cultural venue, orchestrated by Scintillo and the Centre Pompidou. A cultural innovation to deploy its collections outside the walls to meet all audiences with collections of architecture, design, installations of monumental works, incubator, co-working spaces, popular culture events...

The braided tower is a combination of high-rise apartments with duplexes, terraces and loggias, and a 4* hotel featuring the new Hyatt Centric lifestyle concept, never before seen in Paris. It will feature over 100 rooms and a restaurant with panoramic view.
