Bold Gastromomic ideas abound at Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse, inside a dining room inspired by the salon de la Paix at the Chateau de Versailles.

One of France’s oldest palaces, Le Meurice Alain Ducasse, enlivens the elegant Rue de Rivoli in the 1st arrondissement. Inside, visitors will find the remarkable two Michelin-starred, Phillippe Starck-designed restaurant where executive chef Amaury Bouhours (formerly of Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée) serves up bold gastronomic ideas, reinterpreting classic haute cuisine with a spotlight on subtlety, tantalising techniques and respectfully sourced local produce.

Starred cuisine in tune with the times

Discerning guests who take a table are certain to be satisfied with sea bream accompanied by smoked yoghurt, or Lardo di Colonnata, lamb seasoned with seaweed from Le Croisic, abalone and turnip. These delectible creations are delightfully presented on a beautiful, silver-rimmed flower shaped porcelain serving plate, specially created by renowned Japanese designer Shinichiro Ogata.If a single visit to Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse inspires an appetite for something more, diners can book an exclusive Chef’s Table with Bouhours. A total of just eight guests per sitting can explore a behind the scenes look into Bouhours’ craft.

On the rise

Dessert is one of the highlights within this esteemed palace restaurant. The aesthetically astounding sculptural fruit creations of celebrated pastry chef Cédric Grolet (crowned best pastry chef in the world in 2018 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants) will satisfy lovers of the finest gastronomy. Grolet’s creations are ripe with white chocolate and filled with mousse and sweet fruit. Try the Pierre Baud figs / red wine / liquorice, for example, mixing sorbet and a red wine emulsion.

Le Meurice Alain Ducasse is situated within a grand building dating back to 1835, with 18th century salons installed in 1907 bringing together antique and modern.
