When are the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games being held?

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games programme features 329 events spread across 18 days of competition from Wednesday 24 July to Sunday 11 August 2024. France will be hosting its first-ever Summer Paralympic Games in 2024, featuring 22 sports, 549 events, from 28 August to 8 September.

What will be special about Paris 2024 compared to previous Olympic games?

Four new sports - breaking, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing – have been added to the 2024 programme. The general public can sign up to a people’s marathon – join Le Club Paris 2024 to find out the latest news.

What’s free that I can attend?

The Opening Ceremony is free. Up to 600,000 people can watch the event from the quays of Paris.

When do tickets go on sale? Where can I buy my tickets?

All ticket sales, including those for the Opening Ceremony, are available online only, and available worldwide, through www.paris2024.org. It’s the sole official online ticket platform. Olympic sports fans will have to register in December this year for a draw. Sales will start in February 2023 (packages of three events or sessions). Single ticket sales start in May 2023. Ten million tickets will go on sale for the Olympic Games. Almost 3.4 million tickets will go on sale for the Paralympic Games.

How much will tickets to the Olympic and Paralympic Games cost?

Prices for all Olympic sports will start at €24. Prices for all Paralympic sports will start at €15.

Where throughout France are Olympic sports being held?

The opening ceremony starts on the Seine. Athletics, rugby and the closing ceremony will be held at Stade de France. Beach volleyball will be at Eiffel Tower Stadium. Athletics (race walk) and cycling are at Pont d’Iéna. The Grand Palais is home to fencing and taekwondo. Tennis and boxing (finals) are being held at Roland-Garros Stadium. The marathon starts at Hôtel de Ville. Football is being played at Nantes Stadium, Nice Stadium, Bordeaux Stadium, Lyon Stadium and Saint-Étienne Stadium. Sailing is at Marseille Marina and surfing is being held at Teahupo’o in Tahiti.

All sites will provide seating adapted for people with disabilities. Tickets fot these seats will be available as part of the general ticket sales. Online sales will follow the highest international standards for digital accessibility.

Will the ceremony be accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities?

The principles pf universal accessibility are being incorporated into infrastructures (stands), while taking into consideration topographical constraints.
