French chef Guy Savoy, 2 Michelin stars, talks about the town of Sète and its surrounding area in Occitanie, France, which he fell in love with. It's a town made for gourmets, between the Mediterranean, the Etang de Thau, and a generous land. Follow him and savor the local cuisine, oysters, tielle, bourride and macaronade, between a joust on the Grand Canal and a poetry festival...

To hear Guy Savoy talk about the town of Sète is to escape to the shores of the Mediterranean, between the Etang de Thau and a land never short of the authentic, tasty produce that inspires the chef in his art of cooking.

Sète, a city made for a gourmet

The French chef, 3 Michelin stars and ranked Best Restaurant in the World by La Liste 2018, fell in love with Sète thanks to amie. Nothing could be more evocative than to hear him describe this magical place in Occitanie, "a town made for a gourmand ” where you can imagine yourself tasting oysters from the Etang de Thau, the fish that fishermen bring back to port every day, the local produce of market gardeners, in an authentic atmosphere and preserved environment.

Of course, there are miles of fine sand, sun-drenched days and a fishing port more picturesque than a postcard.

Enjoy macaronade, tielle or monkfish bourride

But in keeping with his passion for gastronomy, Guy Savoy prefers to recommend tasting a macaronade with the locals, a tielle or a monkfish bourride in one of Sète's restaurants, or having a drink at Tarbouriech Saint-Barth in Marseillan with oysters and mussels against the setting sun.
