With its rugged coastline of cliffs concealing small, unspoilt coves of sand or pebbles, Brittany fascinates and attracts enthusiasts of natural road trips as well as families looking for peace and a change of scenery. Follow the guide for a breath of fresh air and escape.
Day 1: Vannes and the Gulf of Morbihan

Vannes, the capital of Morbihan, is a must-see first stop. Nestling at the far end of the gulf, sheltered by ramparts, the medieval city with its cobbled streets and colourful half-timbered facades will appeal to the whole tribe. The lunch break is an opportunity to discover a traditional trade: oyster farming. For this excursion in the Gulf of Morbihan, you'll board a silent, environmentally-friendly electric boat to discover the oyster beds... with a little tasting to boot.
Once you've had your fill, you can continue your tour by admiring the famous line of 3,000 menhirs at Carnac, 7,000 years old. Children will be speechless, and the most enthusiastic will want to find out more at the Musée de la Préhistoire. After contemplating these heritage treasures, head for the Sables Blancs beach in Plouharnel. Enjoy a swim on this immense, wild beach at the head of Quiberon Bay. A word of advice: stay until sunset to admire a breathtaking spectacle that only unspoilt nature can provide.
Second day: Île aux Moines

This could prove to be the main challenge of the holiday: getting the children out of bed and dragging them off to Ile aux Moines in the early hours of the morning. To get to the largest island in the Gulf of Morbihan, head for the Port Blanc pier in Baden, where a shuttle bus is waiting.
On the island, in constant contact with nature, you can cycle along the 14km of paths, admiring the tangle of white fishermen's houses and the coastline that looks like a Greek island. An invitation to relax. Alternating between bike rides and dips in the water, stop off at La Chaumière crêperie in the Place du Ru Vraz, which serves delicious galettes, but that's not all!
Day three: the Boucle des Corniches in South Finistère
Brittany still has plenty of surprises in store. On this third day, you'll be tempted by the Boucle des Corniches, a walk along the coastline - over 12km for the more adventurous. It runs all the way along the Corniche to the Mer Blanche. An ideal way to recharge your batteries and enjoy the sea air. For a gourmet break, there's no shortage of good places to eat in the surrounding area, including L'Alhambra in Bénodet and Café du Port in Combrit Sainte-Marine.
And to admire the breathtaking panorama from a different angle, you can take the whole family to the Centre nautique de Fouesnant. This is the perfect opportunity to row together, hiring double kayaks and mooring on a virtually private beach! Lots of laughs and unforgettable memories guaranteed.
Day four: Pointe de la Torche and Le Guilvinec

To round off this family holiday in style, here's a physical and unusual activity that will get everyone on the same wavelength. There's a way of life in Brittany, and particularly here at the Pointe de la Torche: surfing! This natural peninsula, steep and windswept, is the ideal spot to try out this sport alongside experienced instructors at the 29 Hood Surfclub.
After the effort, head for Le Guilvinec, France's leading small-scale fishing port. Aboard a Soizen boat, we'll take a guided tour to meet the marine animals. Here, grey seals and dolphins are the stars of the show, and there's something for everyone! It's the perfect way to round off your holiday: enchanting and unforgettable.
