Palace: make yourself at home at the Hôtel Royal Evian

Opened in 1909, the Hôtel Royal overlooks Lake Geneva, as if a monumental cruise liner had cast anchor on the hillside. With its fan-like silhouette, it is a perfect addition to the 19 hectares of natural parkland which surround it, while its clean lines blend Art Nouveau and Art Déco styles. The hotel was fully renovated in 2015 to enhance the building’s 1900 architecture, and it was awarded “Palace” status in November 2016.

Found on the sixth floor, the Royale Suite is the most spacious and luxurious in the hotel. With an interior space of 207m² and 60m² of private terraces, it affords panoramic views of Lake Geneva.

The views of Lake Geneva from the Exclusive Presidential Suite are breath-taking. This luxurious 92m² suite can sleep two adults and two children, and features a marble bathroom with shower and bath, bathed in natural light.

The Palace’s fine dining restaurant, Les Fresques, features a number of classic dishes, like wild swordfish in mango marinade, and Bresse chicken. But it also includes “collections”, like Lake Geneva crayfish served on a foie gras royale.

The bar is the hub of the Hôtel Royal. The hotel’s centrepiece, the designer chandelier gives the bar a chic, timeless feel that is perfect for enjoying pre-dinner drinks or a nice pastry at tea-time.

The Evian Source Spa is a 1200m² space dedicated to the well-being of body and mind. The energy that permeates the spa, where serenity and luxury are the watchwords, creates an exclusive experience of relaxation and well-being, whether there for a weekend or a longer stay. Open every day of the week for the exclusive use of hotel guests, the spa includes 24 treatment rooms, two pools (indoor and outdoor), sauna and steam room, fitness suite, hairdressing salon, and lounge.

The Hôtel Royal is an uncommon example of French luxury with 150 rooms, including 32 outstanding suites. On the sixth floor, previously used for meetings and conferences, seven adjoining suites have been installed, with views of Lake Geneva and the Alpine peaks. The Exclusive Junior Suite sleeps two adults and one child, and forms part of this selection of suites that can be booked as one private room.

Combining historic heritage and the latest contemporary design, the ground floor rooms have been harmoniously redesigned. From the night bar to the grand salon, and wine cellar to library, the Neo-Baroque frescoes by Gustave Louis Jaulmes that decorate the archways and domes have rediscovered the gleam of yesteryear.
