24 hours in a Palace: Cheval Blanc Courchevel

The winter air nips at your cheeks as snowflakes drift silently down. Then, among the fir trees of the Jardin Alpin, the ochre façade of Cheval Blanc Courchevel comes into view, lined with carved wooden balconies. At the entrance, Bruno Peinado’s Cheval de Miroirs (Mirror Horse) offers a first glimpse of the Palace’s contemporary art collection. Works by Paola Pivi, Walter Niedermayr and Xavier Veilhan grace its lounges, rooms and restaurants. Step through the revolving door and the atmosphere is instantly intoxicating. A crackling fireplace, warm textures and scents of orange, cardamom, amber and patchouli set the scene. Whether you stay for one night or several days, a gentle sense of calm wraps around you.

When you wake up, it’s tempting to linger and cocoon a little longer. Each room and suite at Cheval Blanc Courchevel strikes its own note within a contemporary setting designed by Sybille de Margerie. Expect sophisticated, sensual textures such as cashmere, fur and leather, harmonious colours and a real eye for detail. Our favourite part? The light pouring in, and the breath-taking views over the Alps from the private balconies and terraces. To share the experience with others, the Chalet takes the family-home spirit even further. It offers 315 m² at the foot of the slopes, with three suites, a spacious lounge with a fireplace, a screening room, an outdoor Nordic bath, a sauna and a hammam.

After waking up, head to Le Grill Alpin, where breakfast is served in a vibrant red setting designed by Peter Marino. With its big shared table and warm textures, it’s the perfect spot for a convivial start to the day. Take your time and discover the house specialities, made with exceptional produce, before clicking into your skis and heading out onto the slopes.

It’s time to explore the huge alpine garden. Perhaps on a dog sled, perhaps on skis. Ideally located at the foot of the slopes, the Ski Service boutique offers the latest and most innovative skis and boots. For the ultimate sliding experience, a special pair of Cheval Blanc skis has been designed and produced in partnership with Lacroix Skis. Performance and intense excitement guaranteed!
