The famous butte (hill) of Montmartre, little streets full of charm and hidden treasures…

Around Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur, there are lots of opportunities to take a break from shopping. Jewellery and accessory fans will find much to please them at designer Emmanuelle Zysman, at Corpus Christi, and at La Petite Maroquinerie, on rue Houdon. A little further away, Tienda Esquipulas takes visitors to South America with masks, voto offerings and waxed canvases in fiery colours. For original gifts, go to Gift Code, rue Dancourt, for its fantasy objects, stationery and jewellery. Ready-to-wear stores are plentiful: Ba&sh, Kookaï, Sandro and Karl Marc John, rue des Abbesses; Maje and Les Petites, rue des Martyrs. Montmartre also has arty and craft venues like the concept store Spree, which mixes clothes, design furniture and an art gallery, in rue La Vieuville. With its vintage boutiques, cafes and delightful delicatessen shops, this main shopping street is a must. At Lulu et Brindille, parents can find soft toys and decorative objects for 0-3 year-olds. For chocolate lovers, the Maison Georges Larnicol opened a little Chocolate Museum in rue Steinkerque. Among its original chocolate creations is a giant Eiffel Tower !
