Disneyland Paris, Futuroscope and Parc Astérix: magical Christmas in the theme parks

From Disneyland Paris to Futuroscope and Parc Astérix, the amusement parks are decked out in their finest finery to celebrate Christmas and the festive season. On the programme: new shows, illuminations and magical parades to enchant young and old alike...

The countdown is on in French leisure parks. With Christmas just a few weeks away, the festivities are getting ready to give visitors an enchanted break.

From 17 December, Parc Asterix will be dressed in its winter costume for three weeks of enchantment in the land of the Gauls, with a Christmas market, Christmas trees and a parade of decorated Gallic floats. Father Christmas may even make several notable appearances...
During the festive season, the park located 35km north of Paris presents 4 shows between ice dances ("Who wants Father Christmas' skin"), acrobatics ("What a circus!"), magic tricks ("Chronos, Magic and illusions") and light shows on the lake at night ("The Wish Island")
If you still have some magic potion left, put on your skates at the Village de la Glisse where two skating rinks, 5 toboggan runs and a garden have been set up.

A Christmas story in 3D at the Futuroscope

Christmas at the Futuroscope is first and foremost a festive atmosphere with Christmas trees, garlands and brass bands in the park's alleys. A make-up break at the Lutins workshop is essential to blend in with the decor. This will give you a better chance of being spotted by the Futuroscope's Christmas elves, surrounded by a few Rabbids who will guide you, who knows, to Father Christmas. On the way, families will meet a young Yeti in a 3D Christmas tale before dreaming about the night show La Clé des Songes. For an unusual Christmas Eve, the Vienne leisure park offers festive dinners on 24 and 31 December.

The great return of Disney Dreams

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Disneyland Paris is going all out for Christmas 2022 with the return of the Disney Dreams night show after several years of absence. On the programme: light projections, fireworks, lasers and also LED lighting on the turrets of Sleeping Beauty's castle.

The festivities begin during the day with the Christmas parade led by Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy before continuing at nightfall with the illumination of the 24-metre tree and the castle. In between, children also have the opportunity to meet Father Christmas to wait for the opening of the presents and their favourite Disney characters.

Foodies of all ages will find plenty to eat in the chalets set up in Walt Disney Studios Park and in Fantasyland, in [Disneyland Park]().

But Christmas means Christmas carols. To rehearse before the big day, the amusement park offers the show "Chantons Noël". Don't miss Minnie's interpretation of a well-known tune dedicated to Mickey...

And because Mickey and his friends never miss an opportunity to party, Disneyland Paris is offering a special programme for New Year's Eve. The attractions will remain open until 2am in addition to the light parades, musical performances and dance parties planned for the occasion. Let the party begin!
