This is the new immersive digital exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris. From 22 February to 31 December 2019, the new visual and musical creation of this digital art exhibition site offers an immersion in the paintings, life and colourful and tormented world of painter Vincent Van Gogh.

This is an extraordinary journey into the heart of the work of Vincent Van Gogh. In this former iron foundry in the east of Paris, every wall, alcove and pillar is set in motion with projections of the artist’s works thanks to Amiex (Art & Music Immersive Experience).

When the music resonates in this monumental building, the projection of thousands of images transforms the place and literally propels the visitor into Van Gogh’s most famous paintings, from Sunflowers to Starry Night – it’s a unique, multi-sensory exhibition.

An XXL immersion into the world of Van Gogh

The Atelier des Lumières reveals the expressive and powerful brushstrokes of the Dutch painter, illuminated by the bold colours of his sunny landscapes and tormented night-time scenes. With total immersion, visitors can explore the inordinate, chaotic and poetic inner world of Van Gogh.

The thematic itinerary traces the different stages of the artist’s life, his stays in Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Auvers-sur-Oise. The visitor accompanies Van Gogh from his beginnings to maturity.
