The Fascinating Weekend

A dozen vineyard areas around Lyon, Savoie and the north of Provence are coming together under the banner of the Fascinating Weekend, to offer some 200 festive and unusual activities around wine and vines.

It's a busy weekend ahead for wine lovers! In October 2022, 12 territories with the Vignobles et Découvertes label, located in the vicinity of Lyon, in Savoie and in the north of Provence, are offering you the opportunity to discover their history, their heritage, their vineyards and the products of the vine. The programme includes more than 200 festive, educational, unusual and sporting activities.

Geocaching in the Beaujolais

In the Beaujolais region, near Lyon, you can try geocaching in the vineyards or a gourmet rally at the covered market in Villefranche-sur-Saône. Unless you opt instead for a grape juice making workshop in Saint-Julien.

To discover the vineyards located around the Dentelles de Montmirail, we board a Volkswagen combi for a tasting tour of the vineyards of the Domaine de la Tourade, in Gigondas.

On board the Train de l'Ardèche.

For the more adventurous, we offer a blind tasting more than 100 m underground in the vineyards of the southern Ardèche during a potholing expedition. Before boarding the Sommelier's Train, a steam train in which an expert shares his knowledge of wines as we cross the Ardèche countryside.

In Savoie, a workshop in the hamlet of Miolas introduces the restoration of the dry stone walls that structure the vineyards. Concerts, walks in the vineyards, gourmet cruises, oenology workshops, tastings and many other activities complete the programme of festivities.
