Basque Country native Pauline Ado has been surfing since the age of 8. She caught her first waves in her hometown of Hendaye. Twenty years later, we meet her a little further along the coast, in Anglet, where she has become the ambassador. Today, she tells us the seven spots she prefers to surf, snack or admire the sunset in her favorite city.

Surfing in the Sables d'Or

"I like the Sables d'Or: it's my go to spot. I like how the beach is laid out of the and it is a perfect training ground. It's also the spot where the "Pro Anglet" surf competition takes place every summer.

Finding great products

" If you want good quality, local products, the Halle des 5 Cantons is the place to go along with some other culinary specialties (Italian, Lebanese...). Ideal for shopping, eating lunch... or both!

Recharge your batteries in the pine forest...

"I love the Pignada forest for walking, biking, or a little running in the shade of the trees. It's a soothing place, in the middle of nature, which contrasts with the bustle of the beaches. I like to recharge my batteries there."

"I recommend the Paillote Bleue, located in a quiet area just behind the Plage des Cavaliers (cavaliers beach), facing the foliage. In a great outdoor setting, this restaurant offers excellent poke bowls and fresh fruit juices."

Walks on the beach

"I recommend the Plage de l'Océan, often less crowded than other beaches in Anglet. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. At the end of the day, I like to go for a drink and enjoy some tapas at the Case de l'Océan. It feels like home, and the food truly takes you on a culinary journey."

Best Sunset

Head towards La petite Chambre d’Amour (the little love nest room)! The sunset, on the beach and the cliff, is magnificent. You can choose to walk there or sit on the boardwalk, south of the beach, to enjoy the show."
