In the footsteps of the 2018 Ryder Cup players in Versailles

There is no need to be a golf pro to experience the Ryder Cup, which takes place only a few steps from the castle. Check out our recommendations to enjoy a tasty (and active) weekend in Versailles and support the players!

Put your clubs down at the Trianon Palace Versailles

If you're trying to put yourself in the players' cleats, there is nothing better than staying in their hotel! The Trianon Palace Versailles was chosen to be the European and American teams' base camp during the tournament, and we can understand why! Located across the royal domain border, this beautiful palace offers the best spot to bask in Versailles and its surroundings for a weekend.

Dine at the royal court (almost)

If you did not receive your invitation to the Ryder Cup's official dinner at the Orangerie of the Château de Versailles, no worries! The chef, Alain Ducasse, still allows you to experience the pomp of the royal court for the evening: meal, tableware, nothing is left to chance. This very unique experience inside the château is only open by private entry. However, it is possible to have a lunch at Ore, Ducasse's restaurant, which is also located inside the castle.

Work out the soreness at the spa Guerlain

The spa of the Trianon Palace Versailles, managed by the famous Maison Guerlain, is a must-visit. Especially since you can enjoy a special treatment for golf players called the perfect swing, which is calibrated to relax joints. Special mention is given to the hotel's swimming pool, a 2,150 square-foot basin, which is built on the Greek model.

Feast in the Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsey's cuisine

Try European cuisine with the British chef who owns two restaurants in Versailles, both located inside the Trianon Palace. You have the choice between the Michelin-starred "Gordon Ramsey au Trianon", which is inspired by the chef's eponymous restaurant in London, and the very charming "Véranda par Gordon Ramsey" with its terrasse overlooking the castle.

Visit the House of the Queen

Coming to Versailles without visiting the castle would be a crime of highest treason. Take advantage of this golf trip to discover the House of the Queen, entirely restored and refurbished thanks to the patronage of Dior, has been opened to the public for the first time for two centuries! You can admire the refined furniture, which is in contrast to the picturesque exterior of the Hamlet where the House is located.
