The Museum of Impressionism in Giverny
In Normandy, the Giverny Museum of Impressionism currently offers several family-friendly activities to do from home.
Find coloring pages of works from the collection (Bonnard, Caillebotte) with advice on how to do it in the manner of the Impressionists, Neo-Impressionists or Fauves.
Creative workshops also offer instructions on folding origami water lilies and magic flowers with thaumatrope toys. And the game of 7 differences will entertain the whole family!
Finally, the museum also offers an interactive tale called "Iris and the Twinkling Seeds" which allows you to discover the works and trades of the museum. A a mini-site to understand Impressionism through 173 works from around the world has also been created—the only tough decision is to decide which to try first!

The Musée de l’Orangerie and the Musée de l’Orangerie
In partnership with the French Ministry of Culture, the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée de l'Orangerie have created a mini-site dedicated to children aged 6 to 10, entitled "Les Petits M'O" (the acronym for names of museums).
Helped by the two mascots Pompon the Bear and Lily the Frog, budding internet users can have fun and learn: by browsing the interactive map, they find the dispersed works (and which often depict children or scenes of daily life) and learn more about the painters, the paintings and the context. They can also locate the works in time on a chronological frieze.
Finally, the "Gazette" tab provides information on museum news and offers creative activities: drawing workshop, quizzes, illustrated stories, cooking workshops to slip into the shoes of one of the figures in the paintings. The choice is vast!
Tutorials from the Normandie Impressionniste festival
The 2020 edition of the Normandy Impressionist Festival could not open due to the measures put in place linked to COVID-19. However, the festival has organized creative tutorials and workshops on its Facebook page for young audiences, in partnership with other organizations: coloring pages, quizzes, photo challenges for young and old alike (for example: taking daily colorful photos linked to a different letter), "creative tasting" workshops with the Artothèque de Caen. Follow their pages so you don't miss a single activity!
