An immersive experience
Almost three million litres of seawater, 12,000 marine creatures and 10 universes make up the aquarium in La Rochelle, representing our planet’s incredible marine biodiversity.
From the Atlantic to the tropics via the Mediterranean, Oceania and the Caribbean – enjoy this two-hour virtual voyage that will have the whole family entertained.
Amazing underwater choreography
A highlight at the aquarium is the panoramic jellyfish tunnel, where visitors are enchanted by the grace of the jellyfish ballet. Phosphorescent, plain white or multicoloured, these creatures have populated the oceans for 600,000 million years. Their display is a magnificent spectacle not to be missed.
A world of lights
In the Gallery of Lights, explore the magical universe of the deep ocean and meet the species of the abyss. It’s an introduction to the phenomena of bioluminescence, fluorescence and iridescence.
You’ll work your way around five aquariums, accompanied by high-definition films, projections and interactive technology.
Flying turtles
Impossible, you say? At La Rochelle’s aquarium, observe the different species of sea turtles and watch them gliding through the water – it’s on a par with the most beautiful bird flights. Children from aged four can follow Antioche, their personal turtle guide. It’s a brilliant way to explore the wildlife of the world’s main ecosystems.
Entrance: from €14
