Sandwiched between the Vosges to the North and the Alps to the South, the Jura straddle three countries: Germany, Switzerland and France. It is a huge chain of high-plateaux with the highest point at the Crêt de la Neige, 1720 m.
Nordic skiing is possible in Métabief, Monts Jura and Les Rousses, where there is also a (small) downhill ski slope.

Nature is preserved in the Jura, and the scenery is still intact.
But if the summer season is ideal for walking, the long, hard winter – the climate is continental – gently highlights the curves of a landscape accessible to all, young and old, energetic or not.
Nordic skiing enthusiasts will enjoy the sites of Longchaumois, Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux, Mouthe, Les Fourgs, Mijoux, etc. For purists, the Jura massif has the highest number of cross-country skiing trails in France...
Access:
- By road, motorways to the east : A5, A36 and A39.
- By train: TGV from Paris and Lille stopping at Dôle, Mouchard, Vallorbe or Bellegarde.
- By plane: Lyon, Basel/Mulhouse and Geneva airports.
