"Illusions" Exhibition at the Palais de la Découverte in Paris

From November 6, 2018 to August 25, 2019, the Palais de la Découverte presents "Illusions" an exhibition dedicated to helping us to unravel the art of illusion, a science that astounds and misleads our senses. The presentation also reveals some of the startling secrets of magicians.

Can we trust what our brains tell us? The exhibition "Illusion" which is on at the Palais de la Découverte until August 25, 2019, makes us doubt it. The surprising effects caused by a distortion of the senses sometimes provoke astonishment, and the scientific explanations for these phenomena is no less exciting.

The exhibition invites visitors from seven years old and upwards, to understand the interpretations our brains make, turning our certainties into doubt and amazement. It’s not magic, it’s all down to how our brains interpret and process what we see. Take a tour of around forty models, examples and playful experiences which illustrate four categories of illusion. You’ll get an intriguing insight into how our brains react and decode what’s right in front of us. It’s an eye opener on the techniques and secrets used by magicians!

Curious and captivating experience at the Palais de la Découverte
