Fête de la Gastronomie – Goût de France: a tempting taste of France

Gourmet events galore from tastings to picnics, masterclasses and mouth-watering rendezvous are on the menu of Fête de la Gastronomie - three days dedicated to French gastronomy.

From 21 to 23 September, all of France will set the table for the 8th edition of the Fête de la Gastronomie - Goût de France. It’s a perfect opportunity to (re) discover the multitude of scrumptious specialties that make up French culinary heritage, and to get to know of the contribution of many innovative chefs.

And, taste won’t be the only one of the five senses to be at this party, the theme for the 2018 is: "Taste in all its senses". Because if we condense a tasting experience to the simple act of taste, it’s easy to forget that it all begins with our eyes, followed by texture, the aromas and sometimes even the sound of a product.

Indulge in a taste journey at the many events that will take place throughout France over these three delicious days. Start your culinary journey on the banks of the River Seine in the heart of Paris, at the International Village of Gastronomy showcasing popular cuisine, located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The capital will also host the Food Temple at Carreau du Temple (3rd Arrondissement). With three banquets seating 600, the nouvelle cuisine of French chefs will take centre stage.

In Orleans, in the Loire Valley, classic dishes from New Orleans will be in the spotlight to celebrate the tricentenary of the city of New Orleans. American chef Kevin Belton, famous for his creole cuisine, will be starring.

In Valence, gastronomy and culture go hand in hand: The Museum of Art and Archeology will offer a tempting taste visit with nibbles, created especially for the event. And in Drôme, "Valence Gastronomy Festival" promises to be irresistible with many delectable workshops and activities.

Face of Fête de la Gastronomie: Fanny Rey, "Female Chef of the Year 2017"

The 2018 edition comes under the patronage of Provençal chef Fanny Rey, of the Auberge de Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. A former French Top Chef winner, she was elected Woman Chef of the Year by the Michelin Guide in 2017.

In 2019, the Fête de la Gastronomie will take place in the spring, as part of the international event "Goût de France/Good France".
