From 17 February 2018, the Menton Fête du Citron® (Lemon Festival) goes Indian and dives into the colourful, rhythmic and deliciously kitsch world of Bollywood. That’s the theme of the 2018 staging of this eagerly anticipated festival on the Côte d’Azur.
Energy, colour, rhythm, beauty and religion are just some of the ingredients vital to the success of these films, and which are therefore central to the 85th Fête du Citron® which runs from 17 February to 4 March 2018.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Les Jardins de Lumières (Gardens of Light) evening event hosted in the Biovès gardens: a spectacle of light and colour that creates a unique world of fantasy. In the darkness, everything becomes dreamlike and mysterious in an explosion of colour.
But the Fête du Citron® would not be what it is without its famous fruit-themed corso processions. These daytime (every Sunday) and night-time carnivals (every Thursday) amaze audiences with their euphorically colourful creations. Each float more spectacular than the last will embody the world of Bollywood, its music and dance. A unique spectacle that thrills every sense! The Thursday night carnivals culminate in a grand firework display.
