European days for arts and crafts professions

281 activities, 60,000 businesses and 120,000 jobs: come and discover arts and crafts professions from 1st to 7th April during the JEMA (Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art), and get up close to the professionals in the training centres or through a wide range of creative events.

Enthusiasts, onlookers, collectors, users, young and not so young, you're all invited to come and meet a passionate craftsman or a committed school, you might even get to join in a workshop and learn a savoir-faire that's been closely guarded through the centuries.

Throughout France nearly 9,000 events are waiting for you, of which more than 200 involving jewellers, cabinetmakers, leather craftsmen, mosaicists...in museums, schools, campuses, exhibitions and crafts markets across Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

And in the category "Outstanding rendez-vous", don't miss the opportunity to meet a decorative painter, experience a demonstration (and workshop) of Topiary art at the Château de Pau, discover the crafts skills linked to the Philaposte postage stamp printing press near Périgueux, join in a Chestnut-themed encounter with designers and crafts people at Barbézieux in Charente, or observe the savoir-faire of handcrafted Farol cutlery in La Rochelle.
