Thanks to our many talented chefs and the quality of their dishes and recipes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine’s famous top-class cuisine (External link) holds a special place in our region. Internationally acclaimed wines, foie gras from the southwest, truffles, oysters, walnuts, melons, beef and even caviar! Our gastronomy is admired and loved for its top quality and quantity, in France and beyond.

On the Bordeaux side, wine is king of course, with the world-famous vineyards of St-Emilion, Pomerol, Graves and Médoc (External link) . Wines from “Purple” Périgord (an area located around Bergerac in lovely Dordogne), also stand out and the renowned vineyards of Sauternes, Margaux, Pauillac and Monbazillac are all located in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
