IBU World Cup Biathalon - Annecy Le Grand Bornand - December 12 to 18, 2022

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is the flagship event for biathlon fans who will be able to see the talents of the French team and the best biathletes in the world compete in the "Monaco of biathlon"! On the programme, 6 events spread over 4 days which will welcome 250 athletes from 30 different nations, offering a grandiose spectacle with the town of Annecy and the resort of Grand Bornand in the background. Around this competition, a village of exhibitors, shows and parties to fully experience the atmosphere of this event.

Moguls World Cup - Alpe d'Huez - 16 and 17 December

Ready to be amazed? The Moguls World Cup will be held this winter in Alpe d'Huez. Come and admire the best freestylers from all over the world who will offer you an extraordinary show during the 2 events on the programme: single moguls and parallel moguls.

La Grande Odyssée - 7 to 19 January 2023

Since its first edition in 2005, it is the annual event not to be missed in Europe, with the most demanding stage race in a unique alpine setting. This year, an exceptional sporting line-up is expected with more than 65 international mushers and their 600 very high level dog athletes who will cover nearly 400km and 12,000m of accumulated positive altitude difference, in the superb landscapes of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Amateur competitions: take up the challenge!

La Pyramide D'Oz, 24th Edition - Oz-En-Oisans - January 2023

This ski mountaineering event is one of the major French and world events. When it was created in 1997, the event initially brought together a few enthusiasts, but today it has become a flagship race. The course, designed by the Oz tracers, attracts participants for its diversity and technicality. Amateurs will be able to discover the discipline and set off on an adapted route accompanied by mountain professionals during the introductory ski touring session.

The Transju - Jura Mountains - 11 and 12 February 2023

Since 1979, the Transjurassienne is the biggest French Nordic event. Crossing the Jura Mountains, from Lamoura to Mouthe, this popular competition includes races of different distances, in freestyle and in alternating pace. Take part in the mythical race of French Nordic skiing, on 11 and 12 February 2023, and enter the coveted circle of finishers of the Transjurassienne!

Major winter festivals

Tomorrowland Festival - L'Alpe D'Huez - March 18th to 25th 2023

We no longer need to introduce this unmissable electronic music festival that brings together hundreds of nationalities in Belgium every summer. But did you know its winter version, which takes place every year in Alpe d'Huez? The resort will vibrate for 7 days to the rhythm of the different concerts hosted by more than 100 artists of the electronic scene such as Afrojack, Amelie Lens, Joris Voorn or Martin Garrix for the 2023 edition. Vars on Stage - December 10th 2022

In Vars, the opening of the ski area is celebrated with music! Scheduled for December 10th, the Scottish pop rock band Texas will launch the 2022-2023 winter season with a big free concert under the majestic Crêtes de l'Eyssina, at an altitude of 1850m - feet in the snow and head in the stars!

International Fantastic Film Festival of Gerardmer - 25 to 29 January 2023

The Gerardmer International Fantastic Film Festival is one of the most important French film festivals and one of the first of its kind in Europe. The festival offers two different competitions: feature films and short films. The festival also has the particularity of associating cinema with other fantastic arts: storytelling, art exhibitions, comics, literary fairs, children's area... events that are free to attend.
