France welcomes dozens of professional international Trade Fairs and Exhibitions. Some of them, like the Le Bourget Paris Air Show, the Mondial de l'Automobile (Paris Motor Show) and the Agriculture Exhibition, are among the largest in the world and are well worth a visit.
Every two years in June, the Paris Air Show is held at the Airport of Le Bourget, very near Paris. Established over 100 years ago, the Le Bourget Air Show is now the largest world event devoted to the aeronautics and aerospace industries with more than 2,000 exhibitors and 350,000 visitors. Don't miss it!
The Mondial de l'Automobile is held every two years in the autumn at the Parc des Expositions of the Porte de Versailles in Paris. It is a real commercial and technological showcase for all manufacturers and receives 1.5 million car lovers on average over the course of two weeks. A success which has made it the No. 1 exhibition in the world!
The International Agriculture Exhibit, a real giant farm in the city, is held every year at the Porte de Versailles. Animal rearers and farmers from all over France come to present their production and know-how to the public. It is an opportunity to see the richness of France's many different regions and their production, and a major exhibition that attracts many visitors of all ages.
France is famous for its writers. Since 1981, the Salon du Livre (Book Exhibition) chooses one country as its guest of honour every year, around 1,200 French and foreign publishers. Major authors such as Umberto Eco, Paul Auster, and Salman Rushdie also take part in this literary event which has become an important date for world culture.
