With its 13 wine routes, the Valley of the Rhône offers wonderful “à la carte” opportunities for all curious wine lovers to discover its colourful, welcoming and tasty terroirs!

Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape… Many wines, well-known and generous, make up the vineyards of the Rhône which run from North to South in two zones: from Vienne to Valence, the northern part with a moderate climate, and the southern part with a mild climate, from Montélimar to Avignon.

The reds from the north, very tannic and voluptuous, are the best known. In the south: the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with its bottle decorated with a papal tiara, then the robust Gigondas and Vacqueyras. The aromatic power of these wines goes well with many foods and most cheeses.

In the North: rare whites with subtle aromas, structured and long on the palate, such as Condrieu and Château-Grillet, perfect with fish and white meat. The very pleasant Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage, then, in the south, lighter and less complex wines.

The elegance of the natural sweet wines, Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise first and foremost, is delightful as an aperitif or with cheeses and fruit desserts. Without forgetting the popular Côtes du Ventoux and Côtes du Lubéron, and the delicious rosés such as Tavel, perfect with cold cuts, meat, poultry and grilled vegetables.
