The budget of a student in France

It is hard to establish the average budget for the cost of studies in France. According to the Young People's Information and Documentation Centre (CIDJ), the minimum budget for a student in France is € 870 per month, but this varies according to the cost of the course or the place of residence. The cost of starting a new academic year is estimated at € 1,390, in particular because of the cost of registration, student social security and mutual insurance company cover. If you are a foreign student, French law requires that you have "sufficient means to live on" to pursue your studies without working, set at a monthly minimum of 430 Euros (€ 5,160 a year).
