French universities welcome French or foreign students who have passed the bac or have a diploma giving them access to university studies in their country of origin. They also offer equivalent qualifications to students coming from a Grande Ecole preparatory class, and to employees. You will find a list of universities classed by academy on the site of the Ministry of Higher Education. These higher education establishments award several types of degrees: bachelor's degrees, professional or research master's degrees and doctorates, in a wide variety of subjects: science, medicine, economics, literature or law and political science.
