Intellectual property rights and public information

  • Trade marks and logos

The France.fr trade mark, the "France's official site" signature and the associated logo along with the trade marks of its partners have been the subject of an application to the Trade Marks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union (OHMI).

Any full or partial copying of these trade marks or logos from the site without the express authorisation of the Service d’information du Gouvernement (SIG, Government Information Service) is prohibited within the meaning of Articles L.713-2 and subsequent of the Intellectual Property Law.

  • Photo and video credits

The photos, videos, computer graphics and other technical and graphic elements available on the France.fr site, particularly those mentioned in the "Technical developments, graphic design and ergonomics" paragraph, are covered by third party intellectual property rights. Pursuant to the Intellectual Property Law, any full or partial copying of them for any use whatsoever is prohibited without the prior agreement of the holders of those rights.

  • Editorial contents

The France.fr site takes every care to provide Internet users with a quality service that supplies reliable and accurate editorial contents. Nevertheless, the site cannot guarantee users that the information is complete or updated in real time. Its role is not to provide exhaustive or commercial information.

  • Reuse of public information

With the exception of the trade marks, logos and contents subject to third party intellectual property rights, the contents of the France.fr site are public information. They can be freely reused, free of charge, under the conditions set by law n° 78-753 of the 17th of July 1978.

Hypertext links on France.fr

The France.fr site always indicates the identity of the site to which the link directs you. However, these web pages, whose addresses are regularly checked, are not part of the site. Therefore, the editorial team of the France.fr cannot be held responsible for them.

Hypertext links pointing to France.fr

The France.fr site authorises the inclusion of hypertext links (including deep links) pointing to its pages. However, the France.fr site must be explicitly mentioned in the link's title.

The SIG reserves the right to demand the deletion of a link that it thinks does not comply with the purpose or missions of the France.fr site, or, more generally, the ethics of a public portal.

This authorisation is valid for any public or private site, with the exception of those publishing polemical, pornographic, anti-Semitic or xenophobic information or information that could offend the sensibilities of most people.
