Museums in Paris
How can you meet with Delacroix, Courbet, Picasso and Brancusi? By taking your time, following your inclinations and going round the galleries of the museums in Paris. You have an appointment with the world's artistic heritage, from Greek antiquities to Amerindian collections, from Leonardo da Vinci to Kandinsky, not forgetting French military history.
The Louvre : Every one of its characteristics makes it a really outstanding place. The breadth of its artistic collections, the number of works you can see (35,000!), its location in the centre of Paris, its former role as a royal palace, its glass pyramid…Fantastic!

Pompidou Centre : This is where the National Museum of Modern Art comes to life. A first glance, the Pompidou Centre, a symbol of architectural daring, stuns newcomers with its façade of coloured pipes. Enter its internal areas totally devoted to culture and let the movement take you.

Musée d'Orsay : A jewel box of impressionist painting in which you can see the best of Monet, Degas, Renoir, Manet, Van Gogh… But it also makes space for the other artistic currents between 1848 and 1942. All in a space that was enlarged and completely renovated in 2011.

Musée du quai Branly : Inaugurated in 2006, it is sited in a unique landscape on the banks of the Seine. Here, you can find out about the civilisations and arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and America, presented in a remarkable way in permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Musée de l'Armée : It needed a prestigious setting so it has been installed in the Invalides. Get acquainted with French military history, from the Middle-Ages to the present day, under the gilded dome of the church. Its weapons, uniforms, souvenirs… and its great men like Napoleon who is buried there.
