For some 11 days, visitors are invited by more than 1,000 exhibitors to test, taste, compare, dig out and scoop up bargains from the different stands. There is something for everyone: the home, furnishings, decoration, worldwide handicrafts, innovations and more. The autumn's biggest temporary department store is opening and invites you, this year, to set off for Japan!

Since 1932, the European Fair in Strasbourg has been somewhere to discover new things and people. Every year, the fair is the autumn's commercial highlight in Strasbourg and attracts large numbers who can satisfy their curiosity and have a wonderful time as they visit the different stands. Gourmets can sample new flavours and learn new recipes, shopaholics can treat themselves to furniture, ornaments, clothes and skincare products, while the inquisitive shopper can discover handicrafts from Alsace, all set out on an area of 2100m², and meet some sixty exhibitors. Finally, the concours Lépine is a competition inventors will not miss, a real springboard and quality label for the 150 or so inventions exhibited.

Welcome to Japan!

Every year, the fair plays host to 25 countries, one of which is the guest of honour. After the Lebanon and Thailand, and Spain last year, it is Japan's turn to immerse the public in its remarkable culture. As well as having its own exhibition hall, the Nippon archipelago sets its stamp on the various events and stands in the exhibition centre. Trade visitors as well as the general public will find products direct from Tokyo, Kyoto and the Kawagoe and Mont Fuji regions, such as kimonos, prints and Maniki-neko (cat charms) and be able to sample yakitoris (chicken kebabs) and taiyaki (small fish-shaped waffles filled with red bean stuffing). Traditional music, songs, dances, the tea ceremony, a calligraphy workshop and Samurai combats are also on the menu at the 80th fair!
