Cannes rolls out the red carpet
65th Cannes Film Festival
From 16 to 27 May 2012, all the spotlights will be trained on the Croisette for the 65th Cannes Film Festival. President of the jury this year: Italian director, actor and producer Nanni Moretti.
The same question is on everybody's mind when May comes around: who will win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival? 22 films are competing in this the 65th year of the event. Works by experienced directors like Jacques Audiard and Ken Loach, but also films from young talents like Jeff Nichols and John Hillcoat. From the French stable, festival-goers will be treated to the latest films from Léos Carax (Holly Motors), Jacques Audiard (De rouille et d'os) and Alain Resnais (Vous n'avez encore rien vu).

At the closing ceremony on 27 May, the jury, presided over by Italian Nanni Moretti and including German actress Diane Kruger, Palestinian actress and director Hiam Abbass and French couturier Jean-Paul Gaultier, will reveal the winners. There will be a number of awards, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Leading Actress, Best Leading Actor and of course the eagerly awaited Palme d'Or, which was won in 2011 by American director Terrence Malick for his film The Tree of Life.
